Technology of mercury removal from exhaust from coal fired boilers

چکیده

For the Polish power industry, basic fuel is hard coal and lignite, which contains significant amounts of mercury. Current emission standards in European Union (IED directive near future BAT conclusions) create conditions for investment flue gas cleaning installations coal-fired plants. During combustion coal, mainly metallic mercury (Hg 0 ) produced, difficult to remove from dedusting (electrostatic precipitators fabric filters) wet desulphurization In these installations, oxidized 2+ ash bound (Hg(p)) are removed. order reduce concentration gases, DEMERTEC technology was created, based on oxidation an form its removal existing de-dusting or de-sulphurization installations. The article presents results field tests lignite. This tested a ~ 400 MW e unit fed with lignite FGD absorber purified two units capacity 195 220 coal. both cases, emissions were reduced below levels required by conclusions.

Control of mercury emissions from coal-fired electric utility boilers.

Introduction During combustion, the mercury (Hg) in coal is volatilized and converted to elemental mercury (Hg) vapor in the high temperature regions of coal-fired boilers. As the flue gas is cooled, a series of complex reactions begin to convert Hg to ionic mercury (Hg) compounds and/or Hg compounds (Hgp) that are in a solid-phase at flue gas cleaning temperatures or Hg that is adsorbed onto t...

Mutagenicity in emissions from coal- and oil-fired boilers.

The mutagenicity of emission samples from three oil-fired and four coal-fired boilers have been compared by using the Salmonella/microsome assay. Very little or no mutagenic activity was observed in samples from five of these boilers. The sample from one oil-fired boiler showed mutagenic activity of about 500 revertants/MJ, and the sample from a coal-fired fluidized bed combustor had an activit...
